What is the best video or graphic card combination for the price and performance?

Should i get 2 good graphic cards that is SLI ready or should I get 1 very good graphic card. Is it better , performance wise, to have 2 graphic cards working together at the same time or having 1 very powerful video card? What do you suggest?

SLI really isn't necessary for most games and can be a ripoff at times; because 2 7600GT's are beat by a single 7950GT. A single graphics card also requires less power and less configuration than SLI, so that is what you should go with.
